Abstract

Management psychology is a fully formed practice-oriented branch of social psychology, which has its own theoreti-cal and methodological basis, conceptual apparatus and methodological support. Today there are many curricula, manuals and textbooks on this discipline, the amount of scientific and popular science work on specific aspects of psychology of management is very significant. The article presents concept of the essence and matter of management and leadership in the frames of organizational development. Basing on system analysis the article proves that leader-ship and management are objectively multidirectional functions in the context of an organization's operating and development in functional as well as sociopsychological aspects. Maintaining their dialectical unity is one of the crucial factors of development of a presentday organization. Organizational leadership in the modern sense is an emergent phenomenon that is the result of subject-subject in-teraction of the leader and subordinates, aimed at ensuring the long-term development of the organization. In the context of organizational functioning and development, leadership and leadership should not be consid-ered as multidirectional functions. In this regard, one of the key tasks of the organizational psychologist is to ensure their dialectical interaction. Leadership is manifested in the implementation of four interrelated functions: the formation of vision, mission formulation, strategy development, ensuring the implementation of the strategy. Individual possibilities of realization of these functions are caused by the leadership potential which is formed in the course of the decision of the first five crises of psychosocial development.
